Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the SnapSeat mobile application or website (collectively, the “Service”) operated by SnapSeat (“SnapSeat,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the SnapSeat Service in any way, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and that you agree to comply with these Terms. If you are using SnapSeat on behalf of a business entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
SnapSeat is a mobile-first booking and payment platform designed for beauty professionals — including barbers, hair stylists, locticians, braiders, and colorists — and their clients. The platform allows:
- Beauty professionals (“Pros”) to create profiles, list services, manage appointments, process payments, and market their business.
- Clients to discover Pros, book appointments, make payments, and leave reviews.
SnapSeat acts as a technology platform and marketplace. We are not a beauty services provider. We do not employ Pros, and we are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of services performed by Pros.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update that information to keep it accurate.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@getsnapseat.app if you suspect any unauthorized access.
3.3 One Account Per User
Each user may maintain only one account per role (Pro or Client). Creating duplicate accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited and may result in termination of all related accounts.
4. User Roles
4.1 Beauty Professionals (“Pros”)
By registering as a Pro, you represent that you hold any licenses, permits, or certifications required by your local jurisdiction to perform the services you list. You are solely responsible for your services, pricing, availability, and client interactions. SnapSeat is not liable for any claims arising from services you perform.
4.2 Clients
As a client, you are responsible for arriving to appointments on time, providing accurate contact information, and honoring any deposit or cancellation policies set by your Pro. Chargebacks or disputes initiated in bad faith may result in account suspension.
5. Booking and Appointments
Bookings made through SnapSeat represent an agreement between the Client and the Pro. SnapSeat facilitates the booking process but is not a party to that agreement. Cancellation and refund policies for individual bookings are set by each Pro and disclosed at the time of booking. SnapSeat may, at its discretion, mediate disputes between Pros and Clients but has no obligation to do so.
6. Payments and Fees
6.1 Payment Processing
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. and Stripe Connect. By using payment features, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (available at stripe.com). SnapSeat does not store your full payment card details.
6.2 SnapSeat Subscription Fees
SnapSeat offers subscription plans (“Solo,” “Pro,” and “Shop”) as described on our pricing page. Subscription fees are charged on a recurring monthly basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. SnapSeat does not provide prorated refunds for unused portions of a billing cycle.
6.3 In-App Purchases
Subscription purchases made through the Apple App Store are subject to Apple's payment terms. Subscription purchases made through the Google Play Store are subject to Google's payment terms. SnapSeat subscription fees are billed directly through the applicable app store platform.
6.4 Zero Booking Commissions
SnapSeat does not charge commissions on individual bookings or client payments made through the platform. Standard Stripe payment processing fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) apply to all card transactions and are disclosed transparently. These fees are charged by Stripe, not SnapSeat.
6.5 Refunds
Subscription refund requests should be submitted to legal@getsnapseat.app within 7 days of a charge. For service-related refunds (deposits, no-shows), each Pro sets their own refund policy. SnapSeat is not responsible for refunding payments made for services rendered by Pros.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information on your profile or listings.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse any other user of the Service.
- Use the Service to facilitate illegal transactions or activities.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or replicate any part of the Service.
- Use automated bots or scrapers to access the Service.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited commercial messages (spam).
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Collect or harvest personal information about other users without consent.
8. User-Generated Content
The Service allows users to submit profile photos, portfolio images, reviews, and other content (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant SnapSeat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Service.
You represent that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights and is not defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful. SnapSeat reserves the right to remove any User Content at its discretion without notice.
9. Reviews and Ratings
Reviews submitted by Clients are posted on Pro profiles. Reviews must be honest, based on genuine experience, and must not contain personal attacks, hate speech, or false factual claims. SnapSeat reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these standards. Pros may not incentivize or coerce clients to remove or alter reviews.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to the SnapSeat name, logo, wordmark, typography, and software — are owned by SnapSeat and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our intellectual property without express written permission.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with or links to third-party services including Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (data infrastructure), and app distribution platforms (Apple App Store and Google Play). Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies. SnapSeat is not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.
12. Push Notifications and SMS
By providing your phone number and enabling notifications, you consent to receiving appointment reminders, booking confirmations, and service-related SMS messages and push notifications from SnapSeat and from Pros you book with. You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You may manage push notification preferences in your device settings.
13. Location Data
Certain features of the Service (such as Pro discovery and map search) require access to your device's location. You may grant or revoke location permissions through your device settings at any time. Revoking location access may limit the functionality of some features.
14. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SNAPSEAT DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. SNAPSEAT DOES NOT WARRANT THE QUALITY OR ACCURACY OF ANY SERVICES PROVIDED BY PROS ON THE PLATFORM.
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SNAPSEAT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR FROM SERVICES PROVIDED BY PROS. IN NO EVENT SHALL SNAPSEAT'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SNAPSEAT IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SnapSeat and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, your services provided as a Pro, or your violation of these Terms.
17. Termination
SnapSeat reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, for conduct that harms other users or the platform, or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall first be submitted to good-faith informal negotiation for thirty (30) days. If unresolved, disputes shall be settled by binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, conducted in Chicago, Illinois.
YOU WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.
19. Changes to These Terms
SnapSeat reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and notify you via the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
