This Privacy Policy describes how SnapSeat (“SnapSeat,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of SnapSeat, including beauty professionals (“Pros”) and clients (“Clients”).

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account or use the Service, we may collect:

  • Account Information: Full name, email address, phone number, username, and password.
  • Professional Profile (Pros only): Business name, specialty (e.g., barber, stylist, loctician), service offerings, pricing, working hours, and location/address.
  • Portfolio Content: Photos and images you upload to your professional portfolio.
  • Payment Information: Billing details necessary to process subscription fees. Full card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by SnapSeat.
  • Identity Verification (Pros only): Information required to set up a Stripe Connect account for payment payouts, which may include your legal name, date of birth, Social Security Number (last 4 digits or full, depending on Stripe requirements), and bank account details. This information is transmitted directly to Stripe.
  • Communications: Messages, support inquiries, and feedback you send to us.
  • User-Generated Content: Reviews, ratings, notes, and comments you post on the platform.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and app version.
  • Usage Data: Features accessed, screens viewed, appointment actions, and session duration.
  • Location Data: With your permission, we collect your precise or approximate geographic location to enable Pro discovery, map-based search, and nearby availability features. Location is only collected when the app is in use, unless you grant background location access.
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, browser type (for web), and pages visited.
  • Push Notification Tokens: To deliver booking confirmations and appointment reminders to your device.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited information from third-party services, including:

  • Stripe: Payment status, payout details, and account verification results. Stripe handles all payment card data under its own Privacy Policy.
  • Apple / Google: App store account information and subscription purchase status when you purchase a SnapSeat plan through the App Store or Google Play.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your account and user profile.
  • Facilitate booking, scheduling, and appointment management between Pros and Clients.
  • Process subscription payments and payouts through Stripe.
  • Send booking confirmations, appointment reminders, and service-related notifications via push notification and SMS.
  • Power location-based Pro discovery and map search features.
  • Display portfolios, reviews, and service listings to clients.
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
  • Improve and optimize the Service through usage analytics.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
  • Send service announcements, platform updates, and (where permitted) promotional communications. You may opt out of promotional emails at any time.

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 With Other Users

Pro profile information — including name, specialty, location, services, portfolio photos, ratings, and availability — is visible to Clients browsing the platform. Clients' names and booking details are shared with the Pro they book with.

3.2 With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate the Service, including:

  • Stripe, Inc.: For payment processing and identity verification for Pros. Stripe's privacy practices are governed by its own Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Supabase: For secure data storage and authentication infrastructure.
  • SMS and push notification delivery providers.

Our service providers are contractually required to use your information only to perform services on our behalf and to protect your data appropriately.

3.3 With Apple and Google

If you purchase a SnapSeat subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, your purchase information is processed by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies. SnapSeat receives confirmation of your subscription status but does not receive your full payment details.

3.4 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with applicable law or legal process; (b) protect the safety of any person; (c) protect SnapSeat's rights or property; or (d) respond to an emergency.

3.5 Business Transfers

If SnapSeat is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on the Service before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

3.6 We Do Not Sell Your Data

SnapSeat does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not allow third-party advertising networks to collect information from within our app.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer (for example, financial records required for tax purposes may be retained for up to 7 years). Portfolio images and reviews associated with a deleted Pro account may be removed from public view immediately upon deletion.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously. SnapSeat implements industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and secure infrastructure through Supabase. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@getsnapseat.app.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at legal@getsnapseat.app.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, users under 18 represent that they have obtained such consent.

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Account Information

You may review and update your account information at any time through the app settings. If you wish to correct or delete information that cannot be changed through the app, contact us at legal@getsnapseat.app.

7.2 Location Data

You may enable or disable location access through your device settings at any time. Disabling location access will limit certain features such as Pro discovery and map-based search.

7.3 Push Notifications

You may manage push notification preferences through your device's notification settings or within the SnapSeat app settings at any time.

7.4 SMS Communications

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message or by updating your preferences in the app. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

7.5 Account Deletion

You may delete your account through the app settings or by contacting legal@getsnapseat.app. Account deletion is permanent and will result in the loss of your profile, booking history, and associated data.

7.6 California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell; (b) request deletion of their personal information; (c) opt out of the sale of their personal information (note: SnapSeat does not sell personal information); and (d) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To submit a CCPA request, contact us at legal@getsnapseat.app with the subject line “CCPA Request.”

7.7 Illinois Residents (BIPA)

SnapSeat does not collect biometric identifiers or biometric information (such as fingerprints, retina scans, or facial geometry) from its users. Profile photos uploaded to the Service are not processed through biometric identification systems.

7.8 European and UK Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise these rights, contact us at legal@getsnapseat.app. We will respond within 30 days. SnapSeat's legal bases for processing include contractual necessity, legitimate interests, and consent (where required).

8. Cookies and Tracking

The SnapSeat mobile app does not use cookies. The SnapSeat website (getsnapseat.app) may use cookies and similar technologies to improve website functionality and analyze traffic. You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. We do not use cross-site tracking technologies for advertising purposes.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as social media platforms, Stripe, or other integrations). SnapSeat is not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before interacting with their services.

10. International Data Transfers

SnapSeat is based in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to such transfer. We take steps to ensure that data transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and notify you via the app or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
